We are proud to support Alice’s Escapes, a charity that provides family holidays for seriously ill children. The charity was founded in April 2012 by (then) 16 year old Alice Pyne. Alice’s vision was to enable every sick child to enjoy a holiday with their family – an escape where they could be looked after from start to finish and simply enjoy being together.
After a five-year battle with cancer, Alice gained her wings early in 2013. Her family and friends, along with invaluable support from the community and local businesses, are committed to ensuring her legacy lives on.
The majority of Alice’s Escapes holidays are offered in one of two luxury holiday caravans situated on our caravan park in Bardsea near Ulverston. Both offer modern, comfortable accommodation along with extras such as satellite TV/DVD player in the lounge and in both bedrooms, an Xbox, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, cot, highchair, ipod docking station and little extras such as age appropriate toys and DVDs. The family is greeted with a food hamper, which provides all the basics to get them started and a comprehensive pack full of leaflets and vouchers for meals and days out.
